Beer advertising gone wrong

Dear readers,

We always talk about funny, cool and successful beer advertising.
But lets take a look at a commercial which received a lot of negative reactions.

Below you can find the commercial of Kasteelbier, it's a belgian beer brewed by brewery Van Honsebrouck. There are 5 different types of Kasteelbier. the types are blond, dark, tripel, red and cuvée. They are all strong beers with a minimum alcohol percentage of 7% and a maximum of 11%.

In the commercial you see a man relaxing in his sofa, but he is missing 'something'. His wife enters the room and brings him a Kasteelbier.

This commercial received a lot of negative attention and especially from female friendly organisations. (IGVM, institute for the equality of woman and men)

Personally I think it can be viewed as female unfriendly but you don't have to take everything so seriously.

As a reaction on the negative reactions regarding the female unfriendly aspect, they launched a new commercial, this time with a woman as leading actor.

Watch the commercials for youself and let us know what you think.

It's a very good beer by the way! ;)

Cheers,

Tim Dirven
